Malford Milligan & The Southern Aces
    Travellin’ Blue Kings

Malford Milligan & The Southern Aces USA/NL

Because of his powerful, soulful voice and impressive appearance, Malford Milligan is often compared to soul icons such as Otis Redding and Percy Sledge. It is not without reason that he was awarded the best vocalist eight times at the Austin Music Awards. As a singer of the supergroup Storyville, with Stevie Ray Vaughan’s ‘Double Trouble’ as a rhythm tandem, Milligan was well known in the 90s as an energetic frontman. At Malford Milligan & The Southern Aces the key words are soulful, rootsy, groovy and stripped-down.

Their album ‘Life Will Humble You’ was released in October 2018 and since then the album, which is filled with heartbreakingly beautiful songs, has been number one in the Euro Americana Chart for months. A must for both soul and blues fans.

Add two units of Electrophonics and two units of Howlin ’Bill with a pinch of Rhythm Bombs, Liberators, Fried Bourbon, Regulators and Eastville Sinner, shake well and you will get Travellin’ Blue Kings. The band, a mix of Dutch and Belgian old hands in the profession, brings an amalgam of impressive own songs and selected covers.

At the beginning of this year the band came up with a great album “Wired Up”, mainly filled with swinging blues, which comes from the booklet Fabulous Thunderbirds / Little Charlie & The Nightcats.
