The British Kyla Brox from Manchester, winner of the European Blues Challenge 2019 in the Portuguese Azores last weekend, clearly knows how to charm the press. The comments range from “With such a voice and such blues and soullies dripping with life experience, Kyla is way above average” to “A lot of soul, blues and fun … a golden throat” and “Authentic and soulful, equally inaccessible and intense as Etta James and Aretha Franklin’. ”

Her new album “Pain & Glory” has only received positive reviews so far. You can come and discover all those superlatives at the Blues Peer festival on Sunday 21 July.

Blues Peer is getting ever closer. So close that from today it is officially allowed to jump on your bed for half an hour of pure pleasure. And we can’t have fun enough because we have a roaring opener for Blues Peer on Friday, July 19: Black Cat Biscuit. With this band you will find a surprising, sometimes hot cocktail of fresh songs marinated in a “special gumbo hot sauce”.

These five passionate gentlemen promise to convert the last doubters to the Bluesdom. We are just as curious as you are.
